That’s according to a post from Terraria dev Re-Logic on the sandbox game’s forums, which announces: “The long-standing ‘Terraria mod to make and play mods’, tModLoader will be coming to Steam as a free DLC for Terraria alongside Journey’s End!” The studio explains “fully-integrated official mod support” is not something it can feasibly add due to the way the game’s codebase works, but that “tModLoader has served faithfully as that ‘bridge’ between the main game and the amazing library of player-created mods that exists for Terraria”. The tool is basically a “Terraria mod to make and play mods”, allowing players to work around rather than directly with Terraria source code – and there are plans to add Steam Workshop support in the future, too.

Steam Workshop is planned, but won't be part of the initial release.Community-made Terraria modding tool, tModLoader, is coming to Steam soon as free DLC, alongside the action-adventure game’s upcoming Journey’s End update. (It'll just be in the tModLoader folder now, instead of Terraria)

At the very least, you'll should be able to manually install 64 bit over regular tModLoader as you have up until now. We are still discussing potential ways to bring 64 bit along perhaps sometime in the future.
#T mod loader 32 bit
TModLoader on Steam is launching with the 32 bit version of the application. I currently use tModLoader 64 bit, how will that work? tModLoader on Steam means tModLoader (on 1.3.5) and Terraria (on 1.4) will coexist without any effort from the user. Your mods, players, and worlds will all still be there.ĭoes this mean tModLoader has updated to 1.4? To fix this, simply install tModLoader via Steam! tModLoader on Steam is installed independently from Terraria, with a separate entry in your Steam library, allowing you to switch between Terraria and tModLoader just by launching the version of the game you wish to play.
#T mod loader update
When the Terraria 1.4 update happens, your current Terraria install will automatically update to 1.4, thereby making any current non-Steam tModLoader install unable to load due to these version differences. How will this affect me? Will my mods still work when Terraria 1.4 is released?
